Bigham & Suart impress on England duty

REIS SUART (L) AND JACK BIGHAM (R) PICTURED IN ENGLAND BOYS UNIFORM

Two Hertfordshire juniors acquitted themselves extremely well last weekend (25/26 May), while playing for a mixed England Under 16 team vs their Spanish counterparts in a match played at the home of England Golf, Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire.

Reis Suart of Welwyn Garden City GC and Jack Bigham of Redbourn GC were 2 of 4 boys selected, along with 4 girls making up a team of 8 to play 36 holes a day, morning foursomes and afternoon singles.

The two Hertfordshire boys combined for the foursomes on both days and were undefeated, winning 5&3 on the Saturday and halving on the Sunday. While in the Singles, Jack won both his matches to remain undefeated throughout, while Reis lost on the last green on the Saturday, but bravely holed a 10 foot putt on the final green of his Sunday match to claim a half. Reis also achieved a hole in one on the Saturday afternoon after achieving one on County duty recently at an away match in Essex!

Spain would ultimately win the overall match 15-9 but terrific experience for both young men and we congratulate both on their excellent performances.
