HADLEY WOOD OPEN
The MOOM leaders didn't play in the Hadley Wood Open, which was won by Mark Durrant with 72 from Sam McLoughlin and Tim Newton on 74. This means that the 2009 Order of Merit winner is Graham Povey, from Brickendon Grange, who caps a magnificent season with the trophy which he will receive at the County Dinner on October 8. Runner up is County Champion Nick Pateman of Porters Park, who also has had a brilliant season. Third is former winner Greg Schmidt of West Herts.
SANDY LODGE OPEN:
Sandy Lodge's own Neil Brinkworth won the Sandy Lodge Open with a two-round total of 141. Matthew Wallace finished fourth to push his best 5 score up to 166, but the 2009 title now rests between the top three with one event to go.
HARPENDEN OPEN
Sam Claridge's stunning victory in the Harpenden Open moved him up to 7th in the table on 117, giving him an outside chance of retaining his Mens Order Of Merit trophy. Nick Pateman's fourth place enabled him to close the gap on leader Graham Povey, but just by four points as only the best five scores in the season count. There are two events left – Sandy Lodge on September 12 and Hadley Wood on September 20.
